Summary

The IT Instructor/Technology Coach will provide instructor-led training in both classroom and virtual settings. Sawyer Training, Inc. (STI) offers a wide range of classes in MOS Office, SharePoint, Google Apps, and other enterprise applications. We occasionally receive requests for custom IT courses. The IT Instructor/Technology Coach is our most visible representative and plays a vital role in developing customer relationships. Mastery of your applications is required but your skills as a teacher are what make-or-break your success (and ours). At STI we are known for getting students excited about learning and bringing high-tech down to Earth. This is a part-time occasional position.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Prepare stock and custom courses in classroom and virtual settings
  2. Prepare materials and assist in set up of classroom virtual machine images as needed
  3. Must be able to work independently and as a team
  4. Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction ratings
  5. Maintain current skills on core technologies
  6. Regularly learn and certify on new technologies
  7. Represent only Sawyer Training, Inc. while on-site maintaining standard professional non-compete courtesies
  8. And, of course, other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Extensive training experience with exceptional evaluation results
  2. Fluency in one or more of the following areas
    1. SQL Server 2008 R2
    2. Linux Server Implementation and Maintenance
    3. SharePoint 2010 Implementation and Maintenance
    4. IT Security
  3. Hold, or be able obtain, relevant industry certifications including:
    1. Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) or similar
    2. RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar
    3. MCITP or higher
    4. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP or SSCP) or similar
    5. ITIL certification preferred
  4. Experience developing and delivering webinars and other online learning
  5. Fluency in English with exceptional verbal and written skills
  6. Fluency in a second language preferred
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and patience
  8. Strong, broad technical fluency
